Project Management Institute Chennai Chapter Member’s day on Saturday 10th Aug at IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) was a fabulous three part event.
First, was the Knowledge Sharing Session by Joe Nisha Arvind (She/Her) on the much needed topic “Cyber Psychology”. Defining the Digital (online) World and expanding pervasiveness, she asked the audience to introspect if we have defined rules, frameworks and behavioural patterns, as we constantly immerse ourselves in this space. She highlighted the negative forces such as Comparison Traps, Information overload, Happiness Traps, Gas lighting and the hormonal reactions and adverse impacts caused by them with powerful anecdotes from her rich experience as a counsellor. She emphasized that while knowledge is important but without application, it loses its relevance. Like the recent hashtag#Olympics where India had second time and back to back medal winners, Nisha’s (second) talk at KSS was superlative!
Second, was the recognition of Members associated with PMI Chennai Chapter for 5, 10, 15, 20 years. And the spirit and fervour on the occasion could be summed up as below
Never fading away and just not the Ember
Limitless Energy in the Heart’s Chamber
Pleasant demeanour and cool as a Cucumber
True definition of a 𝐏𝐌𝐈 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐢 Member!
Third, was a team activity in generating Ideas for expanding the reach and impact of PMI Chennai. Members formed as 5 Teams generated 30 ideas in 15 minutes with passion and enthusiasm. It was indeed a challenging task for me and Vijay Narayanan B.E, PMP, MBA, MSc to choose the best ones, as the competition was very close and the time available was less. We accomplished it by going in for two IMPACT ideas, two SUSTAINABLE ones, the Best Presenter and the Best Team 👏

While the lunch had a different ice cream served, the three part agenda was indeed a 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐞!
