In the earliest days of Yashmia, I had a telephonic call with dear Madhan Ram R. Arumugam. I was happy to know that he was going to be a co-passenger in the caravan of new entrepreneurs. We exchanged thoughts and notes on entrepreneurship and the exciting days that lie ahead. Madhan insisted we should have a luncheon meeting. We did not know then, it was going to take two years 😊 Soon after, as per Madhan’s wish, I had a shared a congratulatory message when the website for Theta Zero was getting launched. Though we have been in regular touch especially during Project Management Institute Chennai Chapter programs, the proposed meeting was somehow getting deferred.
Madhan had taken a suggestion of mine and enrolled himself in TiE Chennai. It was a pleasant surprise for both of us, when he walked in to attend the popular Indic Series on 22nd Nov. We agreed that ‘enough is enough’ and inked 29th Nov as the D-day. He was keen that I should meet his team and share motivational thoughts.
When we are so natural, it is quite obvious that nature cooperates with us. For, when there were alerts of various hues for Chennai yesterday (29 Nov) on account of the impending low pressure – cyclone (Fenjal), there was not much rains during the day. (Whereas it would have been quite difficult today (30 Nov), with skies attempting a 24*7!).
It was lovely talking to the youthful team with abundance of enthusiasm. The vitality of team spirit in organization building, power of inquisitiveness, significance of knowledge gaining especially from the lives and biographies of leaders in different sphere, how the energy of the early members power startups to greater heights, the positive impact of entrepreneurship on nation building were some of the topics of deep exploration. The Q&A was vibrant with questions such as
· dealing with the impact of social media and digital distractions
· delayed sleeping patterns
· soft skills in team communication
· importance of hashtag#Linkedin in networking
· can good cinemas (non-commercial) also be a source of learning
· career and marriage – the balancing act for women
· at what age did you start thinking more of welfare of others
· ….!
Best wishes Team Theta Zero for greater success to soaring heights!
Ably guided by Prem Kumar (an equally voracious reader with whom I regularly exchange notes on inspirational books) Madhan sprang a surprise in the choice of the book, that was given as a memento and a token of love 😀
The icing on the cake, of course was the home food, served with special care and touch – Appreciate very much Mrs Malathi Madhan 👏
Oh yeah, Yashmia and Theta Zero at 2+ are still infants!
